Supporting Communities to Understand, Defend and Claim Their Rights
Everyone deserves to live with dignity, safety and equal access to justice. Kisumu Shinners advocates for the human rights of Gay, Bisexual and Men who have Sex with Men (GBMSM) and Male Sex Workers, while working to address human rights violations affecting Key Population communities in marginalized areas.
Through trained community paralegals, we provide accessible legal guidance and referral support to individuals who experience discrimination, violence, harassment, arbitrary arrest or other rights violations.

Building Communities That Know Their Rights
Our human rights work seeks to ensure that community members are informed, supported and better equipped to respond to violations. By strengthening community-based legal support and engaging key stakeholders, we contribute to safer and more inclusive communities.
Building Understanding Beyond the Community
Addressing stigma, discrimination and human rights violations requires engagement beyond the communities directly affected.
Kisumu Shinners mobilizes and sensitizes grassroots community members, healthcare providers and government administrations on issues concerning GBMSM and Male Sex Worker rights.
Through dialogue and awareness, we seek to strengthen understanding and encourage more inclusive approaches to community needs.
