Building Safer Spaces, Stronger Communities and More Resilient Organizations

Safety and security are essential to effective community engagement and humanitarian action. For organizations working closely with communities, understanding risks and strengthening safeguarding practices are critical to protecting both staff and the people we serve.

Kisumu Shinners recently participated in an insightful session led by CWS Global, in collaboration with Kisumu Shinners, focused on strengthening our understanding of safety, risk management, and safeguarding in our work.

The session provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on potential risks within community and organizational settings, strengthen their knowledge of risk management, and explore practical approaches to creating safer working and engagement environments.

Beyond knowledge-sharing, the session reinforced the importance of making safety and safeguarding an integral part of how we plan, deliver, and evaluate our programmes.

At Kisumu Shinners, we remain committed to strengthening our organizational capacity and promoting environments where individuals can participate, engage, and access support with greater confidence.

Together, we are building safer spaces, stronger communities, and more resilient organizations.
